As mums and partners we have a lot going on. When you throw in work and friends and extended family we can start to feel a bit stretched thin. Like we are spreading ourselves out across too many areas.
In this situation the first thing that we tend to abandon is ourselves. You skip lunch to meet a deadline at work, you dump your afternoon walk/yoga/meditation to drop the kids at sport, you overindulge with a bestie who needs someone to help drown her sorrows.
Somewhere in our subconscious is the belief that we are not as important as all these other people. We believe that to be a good friend, good mother and good employee we need to sacrifice our health and wellbeing.
I’m going to jump on the catch phrase band wagon here and say:
“You can’t pour from and empty cup."
Here’s my challenge to you for this week:
Take 30 mins each day to do something for yourself. I can hear you say “I don’t have time to do that!!” Make time!! This is a huge step in the personal development journey. Teaching yourself that you are worthy of the time to take care of yourself.
Connect with me on FB or Instagram and let me know how you’re going. If you need support I’m here for you.
To get more out of life you need to give more to yourself.
